every child counts

Every child counts initiative (formerly called free coding class)

As part of the ways to reach 250,000 kids in 3 years. The free coding class was born now known as Evey child counts initiative. 'Every child counts' is an initiative to expose kids to ICT skills in preparation to take on 21st Century career paths. We have a firm belief that every child should be able to program a computer to better understand the world around them.

The vision is to provide children in schools across Nigeria without access to certain educational tools as compared to children from private schools in a bid to achieve better quality of education in line with Sustainable Development Goal (4)

Every child counts works with relevant stakeholders to provide enabling environment for children in public schools to help level the playing ground in quality of education.

What exactly are we DOING now?

In partnership with CAREER SERVICE, ( we are hosting a 10 week coding class for girls in public schools in Nigeria at 'zero' cost to the students or school, in order to inspire them to take on STEM-related career paths. Last year, we organized a series of free coding classes for kids aimed at fostering our ideology.

Having seen the challenge of these students effectively getting to the venue of these classes, we decided to take these classes to their school.

We are starting out with 1 (one) Public Secondary School (GSS Gwarinpa-Estate) for January to April school term. We hope to expand to more public schools in the coming term
